Tiger Woods – His Visualization Story

Do you know that Tiger Woods has been practicing visualization since he was only a young child of 10? It is no wonder that by age 21, he was a pro not only in his game of golf but also in his mental prowess. That goes to say that the longer you put into practice and make it a habit to incorporate visualization in your daily lives, the better you get at it. Practice makes perfect. What a cliche, but hey, it works! So come on guys, let’s make daily visualization a part of our lives. The rewards you will reap will far outweigh the initial difficulties and challenges you may (or may not) face. Life will never be the same again. Don’t take my word for it. Do it and judge for yourself.
Oh yeah, back to Tiger. With every shot, Tiger already sees the outcome in his mind. Establishing a mental swing routine is fundamental to his success. He plays it in his mind and manifest it in his physical stroke. Tiger is able to remain in the moment and sustain an intense focus. This is the quality which sets him apart from even the best in the game.
Yes Tiger had the “good luck” of having mental training with Dr. Jay Brunza, who was a psychologist and also a family friend. He was only 10 then. But what was special about him was his own personal discipline and commitment to harness the abilities of his mind, every single day, which is rare of someone his age. Even if you do just a fraction of what he does, I bet you the outcome will be phenomenal even to your own standards. The key is to model his mindset. You do not quite need to hire a psychologist, unless of course you are into professional sports. Information on visualization is ubiquitous. In fact, where you are right now, Hypnotic Visualization Tips & Techniques the blog, can be your very resource.
Visualization – take your time to develop this very powerful skill. Apply it. Nurture it. You’ll be astounded by the ‘magic’ it brings into your life.

Set Aside Time Each Day To Visualize

No matter how bogged down you are with Life, never let a day go by without you visualizing the Life that you want. See the irony? Many of us go through Life actually wishing we have a different one. If the latter is what you are really after, then you’ve got to stop and take stock of your Life. Ask yourself, “Where am I at this very moment? Where do I really want to be?”
Set Aside a Little Time Each Day to Visualize
Know what your desires are and ‘get down and dirty’. Make time for yourself to visualize. Yes it could be anything; a loving and harmonious relationship with your partner, more income, a baby boy, a cheque in the mail, that dream vacation, a reconciliation with your estranged spouse, whatever. Just remember; Do It Every Single Day. Pick a specific place and time for doing this and stick to it. Make it a habit. Remember, habits die hard, so if you do it often enough, very soon you’ll be on autopilot; you wouldn’t need those post-it-note reminders anymore. 10 Best Places & Times to Visualize contains a very helpful list to get you started.
Am I On The Right Track?
Every now and then you may get distracted, you sidetracked a little or maybe become somewhat confused about the whole process of visualizing. Don’t sweat about it. By giving your dreams the time and attention, you are already starting the wheels of the unseen attracting to you what’s occupying your mind. If you allow yourself the little time and space that you’ve committed yourself to diligently and long enough, then surely you are on the right track.
10 Best Places and Times to Visualize
A couple of people have asked me “So what’s the best time for me to practice my visualization?”, “Are there certain places I should go to?”
Here’s an easy list to get you started:
1. In the Bathroom: while taking a shower
2. .. while having a bath/soak
3. .. while on the john
4. In a Vehicle: while driving sorry, too dangerous
4. .. on a train ride to work/school/etc.
5. .. on a bus ride to work/school, etc.
6. On the Couch: during commercial breaks while watching TV
7. On the Bed: just after waking up and before dozing off
8. During Leisure: while gardening
9. .. while painting/drawing/sketching
10. On a date: while gazing into the other’s eyes (my personal favourite

Internet Millionaires Frank Kern & John Reese Interviewed Tony Robbins
Okay, so what does this topic got to do with Visualization?
Well for one, in this video you can clearly see how Tony Robbins had Internet Millionaires Frank Kern & John Reese mesmerized with his signature hypnotic speaking style. I’ve personally felt that awe when I saw him (twice!) during his Unleash The Power Within (UPW) seminars here in Singapore. I first attended as a participant, then as a crew member when he came again. But hey, before I go further with my FIRE-WALK experience at his seminars (yes I did), I greatly suggest you check this video out first.
See how Frank & John lapped up almost every word Tony said? That’s how captivating Tony is in person! Tony shared how the Power of Visualization combined with Belief can have a phenomenal impact on one’s level of Achievement and Success.

Hypnotic Visualization Tips & Techniques #4
Trust and Believe
Kahlil Gibran: Trust in Dreams; for in them is hidden the gate to Eternity.
Walt Disney: When you Believe in a thing, Believe in it all the way; implicitly and unquestionably.
- So, you’ve Decided on the exact Dream, Desire or Wish.
- You’ve Visualized it both on paper and in your mind; morning and night.
- For some of you, you’ve also made it known; to friends, family or like me, on Twitter too.
- You’ve done all the necessary groundwork; research on the topic (or item), gather more information, subscribe to relevant sources or maybe even ask people for it!
Important note: Yes, you read it right. Sometimes, all you need to do to get what you desire for, is to simply Ask For It! I’ll cover this aspect another time, but for now, it is very crucial that you develop the instinct for Trust and Believe first.
I admit, this one requires some practice. You may face little hiccups or doubts along the way. But I urge you to persevere, because once you get the hang of it, it becomes almost automatic. That can be very powerful.
START SMALL (…but be ambitious!)
I used to visualize ‘little things’ just for practice. I still do, because it is so much fun.
- I visualize with my eyes closed for about 5sec, getting a seat in the train. And I just Trust & Believe that I’ll get it. I can confidently say, at least 50% of the time it works perfectly. That’s not too bad, considering getting a seat the moment I step into the train, even when it’s packed to the brim. Somehow someone right in front of me just gets up to alight or something. At other times, I get a seat around 5 or 10min after boarding. And I am talking peak hours.
(Glad this phase of my life is over by now. No longer commute after I left corporate and lecture rooms more than a year ago. Right now I’m just blogging away comfortably at home, my baby by my side.)
- I visualize my family smiling and commenting positively to me later at dinner; while cutting the onion, steaming the rice or whatever. And I just Trust & Believe it’ll happen. It’ll make my day when my 8yr old proudly says “I love mummy’s porridge the best” or my husband smiling appreciatively over my humble spread. For someone hopeless at cooking, this practice really helps build the Trust & Believe instinct.
Okay, these are just some of the things I do. I suggest you take a quiet moment and think up a few for yourself to practice on.
- Make it easy. Make it simple.
- Build on little successes.
- Lay a solid foundation to building an instinct for
Trust & Belief.
Good things will come. Trust me cause I can’t stress this enough.

Letting Go
Thoreau: Go confidently in the direction of your dreams.
Unknown: Don’t hurry. Don’t worry. Do your best and let it rest.
Once you have your Desire down pat on paper, do not let yourself fall into the trap of worrying about what to do next. Let it Go. If you find yourself getting anxious about the process or the outcome of your Visualization, gently remind yourself to Let Go and immediately focus on something positive to distract your mind from it.
This does not mean that you don’t have to do anything to get yourself nearer towards your goals though. Remember all the things I did towards realizing my Dream Electric Bike in my earlier posts? I did do a couple of important things, like making a public announcement on Twitter, this Blog, to my family and friends about my intention to Visualize and Manifest the perfect bike for me. I researched the net extensively on all the various types and models available out there and which ones might be suitable for me. I also went out checking on several bike shops to get more information.
Well you see, I did all the above with the complete believe that I WILL Manifest my bike. I did them with 101% positive anticipation. I was not worrying. So I did Let Go.
I think you get the point.
But why is Letting Go (of the process and outcome) so important?
Simple. When you Let Go, it shows you Trust and Believe it will happen. You are allowing the Universe to take care of the process. I will not bore you with the technicalities of this at the moment. Suffice for me to say that if you can believe the Law of Gravity, then you ought too, the Law of the Universe, more commonly referred to as the Universal Law.
READY FOR MORE?

Picture It
Picture it on Paper
Napoleon Hill: Whatever your mind can conceive and can believe, it can achieve.
Albert Einstein: Imagination is everything. It is the preview of life’s coming attractions.
Get your hands on photos of that thing you want to Manifest. Paste them on the paper that you wrote on, in a notebook, on your bedroom wall or any place you can easily see it. Upload it as a background or screensaver if you’re on your computer a fair bit.
I was spring cleaning 3 days ago. Found one of my numerous visualization scrapbooks. A very old one. I have a habit of making one, leave it somewhere and forget all about it. Anyway, I flipped through and saw this:
It looked so strangely familiar and I mentioned it to Nadia, my 8yr old girl. She said, “Mummy, isn’t that Walter’s Peak?” Walter’s Peak…yeah… We did go for a 9days family holiday to New Zealand in May/Jun 2007. I was 4mth pregnant with my now 1.5yr old baby then.
New Zealand is an amazingly beautiful country on earth. The mountains are simply breathtaking. We also did the ‘Walter Peak High Country Farm’ excursion in Queenstown. It was via a cruise on the vintage steamship TSS Earnslaw (in the picture above). Wow, I actually Manifested this one without even realizing it!
Note: I’ve lost practically all the photos taken for this trip (although we brought along 2 cameras!)
The importance of backing up my computer had never occurred to me till I’m hit with a crash.. Any ideas on how I may retrieve lost pictures, kindly message me. I’d be truly grateful. Well, well, what can I say…my boarding pass at Christchurch airport above is the only living proof I have left of my trip..sigh..)
So anyway, go on now, get Your pictures!
Picture it in Your Mind
Visualize that desire of yours as often as you wish. But have fun at it. The moment you feel any doubt or like it’s a chore, Stop. Forcing it will be counter effective. It’s important that you enjoy the process and feel good about it. The best time to Visualize then is when you are most calm and relaxed.
Your mind is most receptive when you are totally relaxed and open. This is the Theta state of the mind. It is those precious minutes when you are about to fall sleep and just after waking up.
Personally, I love ending my day by lulling myself to sleep with images of my Desires playing in my mind. And when I wake up, I Visualise them again. In case you’re afraid you might forget, have your Visualization book by your side on the bed. Do this often enough, it’ll turn into a habit, and you’ll be on autopilot.
GET OUT AND ENJOY LIFE!
Remember, in my Tip #1 I told you to go out and Enjoy Life Immediately after you’ve kept your written Wish some place safe? It is very important that you do so. Why? It is about Letting Go, which I will touch on in my next Tip.
